All of my life I’ve played with you, swam with you, chased your boats, laughed, jumped to please you. My friends and family got in tanks with you, healed your psyches, and some of us were even able to cure your ailments. Not unlike your shamans, our kind. I was swimming through the crystal waters with my love. She who has always traveled with me, who gave birth to our children. She saw a plume of black water and swam too close, I warned her to stay away, but she wanted to know what it was. Always the curious one, she wanted to smell and taste the swirling black cloud, to understand it better. She got too close and the cloud changed course with the tide and enveloped her. Whatever was in that cloud burned through her skin and within days she was gone. Now I am alone and I am grieving. I have always tried to get along because I love so much the playful side of your nature, but I can not understand your need to take and take and take. Will you do this until all life on Earth is dead? Because that’s what it looks like from under the sea. We just want to play with you in the clear waters.
