Very nice! Did you take the picture?

Excellent image and words, sis…"landscapes of solitude…prisons of thought"…love those two, especially. They contradict in a way but at the same time, they make such sense.

Oh I will have to visit the next post…:*

I see this cute little editor thingy to the right of this box,
complete with spell checker and smiley faces…

Melting love! I love, how it sounds when you say it out aloud.
    Great image and imagery. :D

'Cept the stones rubbed smooth, polished to fine gleam 'neath the water caressing them. They it appears are the beds foundation.

I so love it. The picture is amazing. And I love the visual presentation of the poem. Loved it all! :)

I'm with Calli…landscapes of solitude, prisons of thought is powerful and perfect.

I loved your dripping words, and those dripping branches. I can see the heat and energy flow through them, beginning the thaw. It's a remarkable photograph, Cat. I'm always in awe of the effects you're able to conjure.

There is no need for defenses, when the love flows from within. Beautifully done.

Your image shows the coldness of solitude, the harsh pricks of reality when it faces us and we face it – confrontation. And universally, yes, love feels the same for all of us. We experience different levels, different nuances, different hues, but in the end we are the same in experiencing the essence of the emotion itself.

Nothing remains solid… but the human heart. We hurt. We bleed. We cry. We package our heart back neatly into its cavity. We move on. Such is life… and so are we.

Compact and painful and beautiful, Cat!

love melts armored cocoons… What a beautiful thought and how beautifully the form of your poem suggests this melting of ice and hearts… I love it, Cat! The photo is fantastic!

Hi Roberto, yes I did. The other day during the ice storm.

Hi Sis! Doesn't it feel like that at times? Yeah, I like my little comment plugin. :-) <3

Hee hee! Isn't it fun! I can't help but think of the witch in the wizard of oz when Dorothy throws water on her. ' I'm melting ' she says as she's dying, and melts into a pool of nothing.

    Thanks Lena!

Yes, those mental prisons of thought and solitude do get in the way of feeling the connection to that river. We do best to let the pain in, let it move through, and not try to hold onto it or make something of it. Then they move out, just like part of the river that they are. It is painful, but it is also beautiful and joyful and awesome.

Thanks dear Vesper. That melting is so awesome, it is worth living for. Don't you agree? :-) <3

What a fantastic picture Cat – and your poem to go with it is just awesome!
The power of love is so strong it even melts armored cocoons. Let's just flow along with that river of love. :)

Even the stones get rubbed to nothing over time, or into fine sand, and then to dust… Love doesn't care, it just flows through everything and connects everything. :-)

Sarah, leave it to you to see it exactly how I intended it. My mom was watching when I was working on the picture, so she could verify when I told her "I want to make it look like energy is flowing through it." And then with a few tweaks, it did because it's already in the image, I just used the negative of the image and then enhanced the color to show it. I love tricks. :-)

Beautiful images of imprisonment – armored cocoons, prisons of thought – and of the loss of that solitude in the melting river of love. The photo is beautiful, Cat, and is a perfect accompaniment or inspiration for the verse.

Hello, dear Cat! Please forgive my slowness. I'm back on the road and trying to get around. But I sure am glad to be here now. As always, the first word that pops into my mind when I see your work is BEAUTIFUL! That is such an awesome picture. The poem rocks, too. I love how it goes from "prisons of thought" to "Love's river." I love how you take the negative and melt it into the positive. What was cold turns warm. And it makes me feel the warmth. Both the picture and the poem are just what I needed today!

Oh Jules, thank you for that explanation. I love seeing it that way, and I"m so glad you felt the warmth! It is good to see you, I've been meaning to write to you but my arm has been hurting so I've been lax. One little note coming up tho. Hugs!
