Chasing the Muse: A New Blog for Catvibe

Welcome to my new website.   When I set up my first blog, Witnessing a World of People and Places, I was about to fly off to India and I wanted a way to communicate to my friends and family about where I was and what I was doing.  The blog became so much more than that, as have the community I have found through that blog.  You!  I thank you for following me here.

Since moving to North Carolina a little over a year ago, because of the rural situation I am living in, the time spent living with my father, etc, I’ve been able to spend a lot of time in contemplation.  I’ve been chasing the muse all around the house actually, from painting, movie making, multimedia and as of November, writing a novel.  I’ve always been a creative person actually, but something about this last year has cemented it.  If you can cement something that is more like a butterfly than not, and still have it fly.

And so, along with the Headless Buddhas has come the will to actually create a business of musing.  Yes, even muse chasers must eat, and I am no exception.  I am taking the plunge and putting my work in the marketplace!  It’s a little odd for me, I’ve never been much of a mercenary.

With this new site, I have succeeded in incorporating my new creative writing blog with an art store, to give people the opportunity to buy my prints, just in time for the holidays!  Please take some time to browse the site and let me know what you think.  Over the next few days I’ll be making changes to add multimedia and perfect the appearance.  The store is all set up and ready and I’ve tested the checkout so feel free to shop!

Wow!! Cat, the new site is as amazing and beautiful as its creator. It’s attractive, professional, and easy to use. I love the gray background–it really makes the colors pop. And the thumbnails and slide show are great.

Congratulations on taking this first step in an exciting journey to come! :-)

    Yay for you!

    You beat me to it.
Am venturing into web development too. So would be creating new sites shortly.
This is very well done – simple and elegant.

    Go Cat Go!

Your new site is gorgeous! The colors in your art really pop against the dark background, and it’s really nice to see all your work here together. I love many of them and, as you promise a signature, I’m going to have to treat myself!

    Congratulations, Cat!

Karen! Great to see you, I’ve missed you this month. I was at your blog, not long enough to read yet because I was stealing your links, but I did see you with a certain new baby! SO SWEET! But I will be back very soon to catch up. And meanwhile, enjoy the shop! I’m so glad! :-)

Hi Cat, I’m excited about your new venture. I’ve no doubt at all that all will go as expected according to the rules of the universe. Sounds like it was just the right time to move on. My daughter did and she’s so happy. I’ll send you an email about what she’s done. She’d love your work by the way. All good wishes in your new venture. Sounds like your move east was a good one.

Ruth and I are having our birthday diner on Saturday night and will drink a toast to our artistic daughters.

Hi there *M* mom’s friend! It has been an incredible year, a lot of good mixed with some painful birthing type growing up, I think. Much solitude, but I’ve mananged to make some wonderful friends anyway. Just the way the universe turns. HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Share a hug with mom on my behalf! :-)
