A Couplet for a Secret Lover

Oh how you’ve got my thoughts derailed

“My lover, my secret, my one,”

Dancing and swirling on neuron tails

Far away from the light of the sun.

Just watch the stage from here above

The  passion play of fire,

An artist painting flames of love

With cauldrons of desire.

Oh yes this play, this stage within

Leaves swaths of ash behind,

And still I would invite you in,

(As if your heart were mine).

But find me in another realm

A place where love flows kind,

Where we can dance and sing as One

Yet free from chains of mind.

Just follow

Me Here

Not there,

Yes, Here

Where hearts

Beat slow

At peace

With God

The Water

Our Secret

My Love

Image and poem are powerful. I have to say that the image served as a rorschash blot for me for the moment while I did not see the buddha … it was a very sexual sighting – phallic images and chalices titillating my senses.

    Beautiful work!

I love that "cauldrons of desire". The image is making me revisit "Mordor".

Beautiful, Cat. I think I've said before that sometimes I forget what a good poet you are because I focus on your visual art. You have the whole thing, my dear! Beautiful poem and image, both.

That is a startlingly bracing image, with the over-the-shoulder, bright-light Buddha, leading us up, up, up into the purest sunshine.

I love how you twine two worlds here. The sensual and the elevated. You are asking for the pleasure, without the pain. You wouldn't happen to be an idealist, would you? ;) The second couplet was my favorite. Neuron tails…wow. And the ending was very effective in slowing us down, in taking our hands with your words.

    You're on a roll, girl. :)

Hi Bonnie! Pehaps it was the power of suggestion in the title that caused you to have that sighting? ;-) I like it though, your vision. I kind of see it that way too actually. The buddha looks like it's holding a cup of sunshine.

Mordor, eh? Whodda thunk? Thanks Kat!

  9. January 26, 2010 by catvibeNo Gravatar

Hi Sarah, I'm actually not even asking for the pleasure. That would be impossible without the pain. ;-) Just the satisfaction in knowing we are of the same source and that thought isn't capable of reaching that source, but the heart is.

And dang straight I'm an idealist. Dang straight. :-)

Some secrets love need be kept and yet there are others that cascade down must be shared freely and openly that the veil of love be lifted so others may know the fineness of it.

    That is the truth WM.

These are the words of the passion and depth of our secrets… how they knead us and feed us. "And still I would invite you in…" Ha! As if an invitation is needed… But those last few lines had a rhythm of their own… up and down and up and down. Made me dizzy, Cat, but in a nice heady flying drunken kind of way… Yum!

LOL you crack me up Nevine! I don't know what I'd do without you, seriously. I'm very glad to know you got drunk off my poem. I know then, that I have succeeded. :-)

Thanks Karen! I could never choose either or, I need both to be fulfilled. And actually, music too! :-) Hugs Karen.

I wonder how many times those calls are answered. Somehow I think those secrets ever only accomodate one.

There are secrets Jason, and then there are secrets. Whose to judge about what one doesn't know? But some secrets are mysteries, and they are worth having I think.
