Veiled Woman and Cat by Cat Vibert

“She was saving all her love for the divine manifestation of Krishna, so imagine her relief when she found Him in the body of  a cat.”

Hello dear friends.  Enjoying a very rich summer here, with visits from family and friends.  My son Chris and I finally had a little break from all the outdoor fun to settle in for a lovely painting session.  My cat Marlow was happily resting from the visit with *the dog* and very glad to have his house back.  I wanted to practice draping technique and this image just popped into being..  :-)   Hope everyone is well.

Love to all!

Cat

PS, I’ve decided to start using watermarks on my images.  I’ll be going into my galleries and updating them all soon, I hate to do it actually, but have recently discovered that it is a wise idea in this internet world we play in.

While I have no idea what “draping” is, I like it!

I am glad you’ve been able to spend time with your son and share your love of the outdoors and the arts.

CAAAAT !!! I have not SEEN you for a while.
Our daughter from early on, habitually dressed, and otherwise draped her dog(s) and cat(s) and at age 28 STILL does.

Personally I think you have “draping” down GooooD! It might be different using other media. This piece is so simple, so nice, so reaxing, so full of memory…Thanks!
    Still Steve

Have a great summer. hope your Dad is well?

I love this piece, Cat! Graceful and playful and so sweet with simple love. I particularly like the curve of the woman’s position, her plain, but eloquent dress, and that cat’s delightfully curvy tail. It makes my heart smile.

I’m so glad that you, along with Chris, have sucked the marrow from this summer. Let’s keep dancing. :)

What a great picture. I love how you’ve used the different depths of watercolour to create the folds in the robe.
